« Tim Challies Is Not A Christian, Is Evil, and Is Going to Hell | Main | Revelations of a Single Woman: loving the life i didn't expect »

Judy--I'm cracking up reading this. I'd never read a book about singleness either, at least before having to do some research for this book. And ironically, the original finder from Tyndale, an older grandfather-aged man, said, "Your book isn't really about singleness. It's about discovering God in the midst of unmet desire in a changing culture. Unintentional singleness just happens to be your particular context." I think he was and is ultimately right. Actually, unsought singleness is just one of the many contexts in which a person must discover what it is to love the life he or she did not expect.

Thanks for the book review. I guess i'll have to look into it. I can see being single the rest of my life, so maybe this book will help out somehow.

Welcome to CGO

  • Welcome to Common Grounds Online. Readers of Common Grounds have suggested a website to continue the explorations they began in the book. In keeping with the interactions of Professor MacGregor, Brad, Lauren and Jarrod, the theme of this site is ‘learning and living the Christian story.’

I have invited friends, and a few friends of friends, to communicate aspects of the Christian story that have been significant in their own lives. We’re all trying to find joy and pleasure in this life and the next, but often we forfeit the joy that could be ours by living out foolish, competing scripts. What distinguishes Common Grounds Online Contributors is not our own goodness, achievement or service, but rather the recognition of our need of God’s grace abounding in our lives.
